Marina was incorporated in 1975 and is the newest city in the Monterey area. Once home to 25,000 soldiers of Fort Ord, Marina is home to the Fort Ord National Monument with 86 miles of trails to explore! It includes part of the California State University, Monterey Bay campus, the UC Santa Cruz UC MBEST center, and the Veterans Transition Center (VTC).
